Fly Fishing Twist Pen – Pewter- 230701

Here is the perfect gift for anyone interesting in fly fishing. The meticulously handcrafted finish metal components featuring a fly rod as the clip, a reel on the top with a fishing scene around the top cap. a n angler at the riverside design is on the pen tip. The Antique Pewter finish is formulated to simulate the sophisticated sheen of time-worn pewter. The authentic patina and natural darkening brings out the details of the finish and creates a unique feel with a charm all its own.

Simply twist the fishing scene on the top of the pen to extend and retract the writing tip.

The body of the pen was made using a piece of Walnut recovered from a broke shotgun stock. After having turned the blank to size it was sanded with steadily reducing grit size papers before coating with sanding sealer to fix the grain. Against abrasive paper of 1200 grit was used to de-nib the surface before eight coats of Melamine laquer were applied to give a hardwearing surface.

The black ink is contained in a standard ‘Parker’ type refill which can be accessed by carefully unscrewing the tip to reveal the refill. Replacement is simply a reverse of the process.

Damson Twist Ballpoint 210202

This pen was made as a gift for a friend’s partner as a way of saying “Thank you”. Their business Contstella has worked wonders on my car and I felt this was the least I could do. I tried to design a pen that was elegant and comfortable for the female hand and still be attractive. I decided to use a piece of Damson wood cut from a tree that had been grown in our garden. Damson is a variation of plum and produces very attractively coloured wood. Being close grain it gives a very smooth surface which I coated in sanding sealer prior to applying the self-made Constella water slide transfer. Once this had dried several coats of Melamine spray finish were applied, each being carefully sanded between coats.

The pen uses a standard Cross style refill which is replaced by carefully pulling the two halves apart. The end of the refill will be seen protruding from the twist mechanism. This is carefully unscrewed from the mechanism before replacing. The two halves are then carefully pushed back together ensuring the grain of the wood is aligned.

Beech cross-grain Twist Pen – 907002&3

This pen was created as ‘one of a pair’ from a piece of cross-grain timber cut from an old beech tree having to be removed. The tree had sentimental value for two neighbours who had known each other from childhood, so it was rather fitting that I was able to create something ‘long-lasting’ from its branches. Because of the size and shape of the off-cut the grain unusually goes across the pen rather than along its length. This gives it an almost irridecent appearance with the medullary rays radiating from the centre.

The metal fittings have a gunmetal grey enamel finish to make them hard wearing. Both pens have a contemporary look and feel to them with the clip curving around to become part of the upper pen body.

The pen is operated by holding the main body in one hand and rotating the tip to eject the writing tip and then turning in reverse to retract to safety.

The Parker style refill can be removed by unscrewing the metal tip and sliding out the spring and refill.

Shimmering Crystal Lilac Twist Pen – 811025

This bold, shimmering, crystal filled pen can’t help but be used and admired. The pen has a Chrome finish with a clear top tube filled with radiant crystals.
This pen design is one of my slimmer creations for those who like a lighter pen. The shimmering crystals draw attention to the pen and will give you pleasure while you write.

This particular pen was made for a friend who has a passion of anything pink! It seemed like an obvious choice for her. I really hope she likes it!

The body of the pen was turned from Lilac wood grown in my garden over many years. It has been sanded smooth with several different grades of abrasive cloth before polishing with a special pen making lacquer.

This pen has a twist action. Hold the crystal section and twist the wooden body to extend or retract the tip. To remove and change the ink refill just hold the crystal section and pull it away from the wooden body to reveal the end of the refill. Unscrew the refill and screw in the new piece before pushing the two parts of the pen back together.

This unique twist action ball point pen was created using an actual electronic printed circuit board encased in polyester resin. This stunning pen is ideal for anyone interested in computers, electronics or just as a talking point!
The metal fittings have a highly polished chrome finish to contrast with the highly polished black grip and end cap.
A black Parker type refill is fitted as standard, but can easy be changed by carefully pulling the lower metal section from the coloured part of the pen. The metal twist mechanism is then unscrewed to reveal the refill.

With its sleek industrial look and clean lines, this Knurled GT pen is a real head turner. This elegant pen is made using a hardwood called Paduak from the Andaman Islands in the Indian Ocean. Padauk is moderately heavy, strong, and stiff, with exceptional stability. Padauk is perhaps the most frequently misspelled (and mispronounced) wood species, with Padouk, Paduk, and Paduak being common misspellings. The most common pronunciation is pah-DUKE, it is sometimes mispronounced as Paducah—a ity in Kentucky.

Art Deco Twist Pen – Multicolour Acrylic- 606026

This is an unusual pen design based on an Art Deco theme. The pen body has been made from hand-turned crushed ice effect acrylic with a multi-colour effect.
Art Deco was an opulent and lavish art form that spanned the 1920s and 1930s. The cap is 3-D cast with intricate Art Deco detail. The pen clip features a unique design incorporating spires and starbursts that characterise the Art Deco period and a radiant Swarovski crystal. The pen band is cast and gold plated with Art Deco detail. All the cast components undergo polishing and plating with a durable gold titanium and black titanium plating. The finished pen has a streamlined twist mechanism and Parker™ style refill.

The black ink is contained in a standard ‘Parker’ type refill which can be accessed by unscrewing the tapered tip to reveal the refill and spring. Replacement is simply a reverse of the process. The twist action is betweem th body of the pen and the tapered cap at the top of the pen.

This is an unusual pen design based on the theme of star gazing and astronomy. The pen body has been made from hand-turned crushed ice effect acrylic with a blue / black theme. The metal fittings are in dark blue enamel with polished gold high lights. Delicate Moon, Stars and Sun shapes have been cast into the fittings, highly polished and then gold plated.
