The upper half of the pen features a hand-turned Lacewood section to add a natural look and feel to superb addition to any shooters collection. London Plane is a hybrid of American Sycamore  and Oriental Plane. The wood of London Plane trees is predominantly comprised of the sapwood, with some darker heartwood streaks also found in most boards. The sapwood is white to light pinkish tan, while the heartwood is a darker reddish brown. London Plane also has very distinct ray flecks present on quartersawn surfaces—giving it a freckled appearance—and it is for this reason it is often  called “Lacewood.”

The woodwork was sanded six times with progressively finer grit abrasive to create a very smooth surface.  The surface is polished to a mirror like shine using 12 polishing steps to create a showroom quality finish.

Refill are changed by unscrewing the tip and sliding out the old refill and spring.

The spring platforms actually compress the spring just like the real thing!

Once Coconut cap is unscrewed it can be fitted to the opposite end of the damper to help the pens ergonomics.

The refill is a Parker mini type available at most good stationary suppliers and can be changed by unscrewing the writing tip from the main body of the pen before pulling out the refill.

This particular pen has been made using the a piece of Coconut Palm to create the top section with its engraved 22ct plated cartridge cap. A detailed miniature shotgun is used to create the clip.

The main body of the pen is created from a piece of Damson grown in my own garden and creates an attractive contrast to the dark Coconut wood. A replica 30cal bullet is used to create the writing tip, whilst the 30cal case and replica primer is used to to close the top of the pen.

All metalwork is 22ct gold plated to enhance the appearance.

This roller ball pen was inspired by using a combination of a shotgun cartridge for the top cap and a 30 cal bullet for the main body of the pen. Its unique design makes it the ideal gift of anyone interested in shooting, be it game, clays or targets.
